Forecast

The California and Metro Forecast is a comprehensive, quarterly forecast of the California Economy and 11 metropolitan areas in northern California. Metropolitan areas covered by the forecast include; Modesto, Merced, Napa, Fresno, Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Stockton-Lodi, and Vallejo-Fairfield.

A news release that summarizes the findings of the latest forecast is below.  An annual subscription to the complete quarterly forecast is $250. Sponsorships are also available for $2,500 or $5,000 and include additional print and electronic copies of the forecast and other benefits.

Subscribers receive 5-year quarterly forecasts for the state and each metro area in addition to historical data for the same areas. For each area, the forecast covers employment by economic sectors, personal income and wages, housing starts, population, unemployment rates and more.  In addition, the forecast includes commentary and insight on the key trends shaping the state and regional economy.
